How to find out whether your Sterling Silver Jewelry is Genuine

In this day and age, many people are desperate for money and they are willing to do anything to see that they make money. Since the most popular sectors of business are being targeted, the jewelry industry is not exempted. Out there in the market there are fake sterling silver jewelries and are being sold to unsuspecting buyers. This being the case, it is important for you to have the knowledge on how to check on the authenticity of the silver necklace you will be buying in the next jewelry store you come across.

Since sterling silver jewelry products have been found to be trendy and classic in the fashion world, you have to be careful on the silver jewelry piece you buy. The silver jewelry products have been discovered to be affordable and fashionable at the same time. The silver jewelry is an option to many since it goes with almost any attire that you put on. It does not matter whether you are going for a business meeting or hanging out with your friends; the silver necklace or bracelet you have will look fashionable and right for the occasion.

To know whether your silver jewelry you are purchasing is genuine, you should check whether it has the 925 stamp. This is a requirement by the law which went into effect on October 1st 1981. This is said to be the United States Code for National Gold and Silver Marking Act. On the silver jewelry, they should have an encryption which reads, sterling or 925 which is 92.5% which illustrates the percentage content of the silver you buy. Popularly, these marking are found on clasp when it comes to necklaces and on the inside in cases of bracelets and rings.

To determining whether the silver jewelry is genuine, an acid test was developed. This acid test makes use of the nitric acid. In most case, you should have an expert to conduct this for you. For the jewelry that you want to test, select a part that cannot be easily noticed and sprinkle a few drops of the nitric acid, rub it on the surface for a few seconds. If the piece is not genuine, the acid will turn great, if it is genuine, the acid will turn into a grey color.

To be cautious, always buy your silver necklaces and other sterling silver jewelry from sellers that are trusted. This will reduce your chances of landing on sellers that are bringing fake jewelry into the market.

The Curve Difference between Verizon and Sprint

The clash of titans can never get tougher, sending ripples across stock markets. The curve difference is really starting to prove this. The interesting part, however, is that the curve difference is caused by none other than the BlackBerry Curve. In a world filled with people who seek to own a BlackBerry for all their mailing and browsing needs, a tough choice would be answering which Curve to choose; and from whom. Yes, both Verizon and Sprint have got the same stuff.

Though these two carriers are providing the same internet services on phones made by the same manufacturer, there are a few differences too which we can show. Now for a warrior in the battle field, the slightest drop in defense would result in a fatality. The same has happened here as well, mainly due to these differences.

The new Verizon BlackBerry Curve comes with a gray finish, while Sprint introduced BlackBerry Curve with their sleek metallic finish. Different studies and surveys have shown the fierce style magnet which Sprint’s Curve possesses due to its black metallic finish. As a result, more people tend to go for the Sprint.

The icon arrangement also has variations in these two similar models supplied by the two different carriers. The icon placement in Verizon is traditional compared with that of the Sprint, where the icons are placed appropriately throughout. This icon arrangement is clearly visible during the start up sequence of both the phones. Moreover, Sprint is targeted towards youths and the young generation and is trendier. However, Verizon has easily customizable options related to background images and themes which will help users to a great extent.

The commonality which you will find between the two is the audio and video notes recording, which can either be saved into your phone memory or onto a SD memory card. EV-DO, GPS and a 3.5 mm universal audio jack, along with various other yet to come BlackBerry Storm 3 features, will ensure that you can make the most out of your BlackBerry - irrespective of the carrier.

Last but not least, the bottom line is always drawn by the consumer. The internet services offered by both Verizon and Sprint are exceptional and the major decisions are taken by the consumer. It is a fact, as of now, that there is an ongoing turf between these two giants with respect to the similar responsibilities they hold.

BlackBerry Monaco Touch: Understanding the latest BlackBerry Touch Phone

In the world market, BlackBerry is one of the most respected and sought after phone; and because of its trendy style and efficiency, demand is high. Every time BlackBerry launches a new Smartphone, the response is overwhelming because the public knows the product will be exiting. From business people to companies, they are ordering the BlackBerry, especially the BlackBerry Touch.

In addition, rich in features and applications, the BlackBerry Monaco Touch is a must have item. The phone is fully touch screen, different from either the BlackBerry Torch Telus or BlackBerry Torch Bell. The Monaco Touch is different to everything from the BlackBerry Storm family. Negative criticism hit the Storm due to its clicking screen, thus the Monaco Touch was created. Some of the features integrated into this phone include:

• 3.7 inch TFT capacitive touch screen which means that the screen responds to human touch only. The use of a stylus or gloved hand will not work. Thus the Monaco Touch will respond even to the lightest touch.

• Crisp, clear 480 x 800-pixel screen resolution.

• 16 million color resolution.

• Presence of an optical track pad which is a response that detects the misplacement of a finger on the phone.

• Accelerometer that enables autorotation. Once the phone turns, the screen automatically turns.

• Proximity Sensor - a feeler that detects objects in close proximity to the phone. With this feature, the phone can switch off automatically.

• Integrated 5 megapixel camera with automatic focusing, LED flash and image stabilization.

• Internal capacity of 4GB and expandable to 32GB with a 1.2GHz processor for fast operation. The Operating System is a new BlackBerry 6.1 that supports amplified reality applications.

• BlackBerry ID - with the BlackBerry Monaco Touch you will not need a PIN to access the phone. After purchase, you will be issued with an ID to the BlackBerry database so that you can freely operate the Smartphone. On the upside, this will reduce the rate of theft and insecurity. However, the downside is that if you forget your ID and password, the phone is useless.
The phone has not yet been released, but the market is anxiously waiting for it. As with all other BlackBerry Smartphones, high expectations are the norm; and more so with the BlackBerry Monaco Touch. Most critics want to test out the new operating system to see how it performs.

RIM Blackberry Bold 2 9700 White Unlocked AT&T T-Mobile

The T-Mobile BlackBerry Bold 2 9700 white unlocked comes in a beautiful white, combined with a sleek design that gives it a unique sense of style.

It has a high resolution screen that is large and able to display more than 65,000 colors. This feature makes it ideal for viewing pictures and video clips, as it provides clear images of very high quality, whatever the source.

This handset has a full QWERTY keyboard that makes the input of data a lot easier than in other designs. Navigation on the phone is further improved by the phone’s track pad navigation that behaves like the touchpad on a laptop. It basically works like a mouse and the user can use it to move a pointer to any icon on the screen much faster; and also to select it by tapping gently on the track pad. More ease of communication is allowed by its inbuilt hands free speaker that provides excellent voice quality and is very effective for conference calls.

The phone has high speed internet connectivity using both 3G and EDGE connection platforms. High speed internet data connection is also available through its inbuilt Wi-Fi system that, besides connecting the phone to any hotspot, can be used to make calls from the user’s VoIP account via the Hotspot@Home technology. UMA provides easy and seamless interchange of calls on the GSM network and those through Wi-Fi. The fact that it is an unlocked phone means that it can be used with any SIM card that is provided by a wireless carrier with GSM compatibility, in and outside of the United States. This, of course, really increases the phone’s usability.

The BlackBerry Bold 2 9700, like the AT&T BlackBerry Torch, is a hardy phone with good power saving features. It can support up to 6 hours of talk time and up to 408hours of standby time. The phone can thus go for a relatively long period without needing to recharge, while still being able to perform basic cellular functions.

A 3.2 megapixel camera on the phone gives the user great photography and can shoot print quality pictures. It can also capture and record videos of relatively good resolution. The phone’s easy synchronization with laptops and computers via the BlackBerry Database Manager allows users to edit photos and video clips shot using the camera. It can also be connected to the camera and used as a webcam for streaming live images to the computer. Plenty of data too can be stored in the handset, as it has 256MB of flash memory and a built in microSD Card 2 Slot to expand this memory. This is one phone that combines excellent functionality with a touch of style.

Not All Smart Phones are “Smart”

Everyone understands that different mobile phones have different capabilities. Smart phones can range from something pretty simple with texting capability, to something that does almost everything except make coffee and wash the car. These are basic choices that everyone needs to make in order to choose a mobile phone.

There are phones on the market that are not what they seem. That iPhone may not be a real iPhone. Your new BlackBerry may have all of the outward appearances of the real thing, but when you pay to download your favorite TV show, your BlackBerry videos may not work.

So what happened? You may have bought an imitation smart phone. It looks like an actual smart phone, but when you really put it to the test, it might not be so smart.

Companies, like Motorola, Research in Motion (the people who make BlackBerry), and Samsung spend millions of dollars every year doing research and development (R&D). R&D for mobile phone manufacturers involves developing new chips, new phone designs and new software so that their device is ahead of anyone else’s. It is research and development that is the reason behind the time lag between iPhone releases, the next generation of Android devices and Microsoft Windows Phone platforms. It’s the R&D that makes the real phone so expensive.

As soon as a new device is released, it is taken apart and manufacturers in China attempt to make the same device for less money.

This happens for several reasons:

Trademark, copyright, and patent laws in China are rarely enforced. Consider what big news it is when a company that copies faked movies gets busted in China. The government of China has been more lax about enforcing international patent laws than most other countries.
Labor costs in China are relatively low. There may be many different reasons for this and it is open for debate which reasons are true or not, but the fact remains that it costs less to make things in China.
Fake component parts for smart phones are also less expensive. One of the latest real smart phones contains an Intel processor. The Chinese-made version contains a much less expensive and, presumably, less effective chip.

For some people, purchasing a less expensive, Chinese-made smart phone is the best way to get most of the capabilities they want. However, it is a buyer beware situation. What you think was made by a major corporation may not have been and if it gives you trouble, that company will not be able to help you.

BlackBerry Torch 9860 and the Bold 9900 on Sale from Optus

Optus is the company that can be held responsible for bringing smiles to BlackBerry lovers all over Australia. The BlackBerry Bold Optus and the BlackBerry Torch Optus have been released into the Australian mobile market to compete against the other brands. The Torch Optus is actually RIM’s BlackBerry Torch 9860. This torch is simply an incredible phone that takes the definition of smartphone to a whole new level. It sports a slimline shape that will have no trouble at all sliding through one’s pocket. The phone packs a 1.2GHz processor, which doesn’t quite add up to the processing power that other phone manufacturers have granted their phones, but it is safe and secure to say that the Torch wouldn’t really need that much processing power. While of course it does need a reputable processing capability, anything north of 1.2GHz would simply mean you would have to dig deeper into your pockets to own this phone. A dedicated 5MP camera has been loaded onto the phone, with a capability of taking 720p HD videos. The torch also features 4GB of internal storage space, a very generous feature from RIM, one might add. This memory is also expandable using a 32micro SD card. This phone is basically a perfect fit for anyone that needs a business phone that will also ooze class and style. It may not handle the high tech games and fun experience that will come aboard the Droid, but apps will work to satisfaction on this phone.
The Bold Optus, on the other hand, is the Optus retail name for the BlackBerry Bold 9900. This phone is not too different from the Torch 9860, but it is quite the upgrade from its predecessors like the Bold 9780. The major difference between the Torch Optus and the Bold Optus may be in their touch screen capacity. The Bold features a full touch screen pad, but RIM decided to keep it loaded with BlackBerry’s all popular keyboard as well. The Torch, on the other hand, features a 3.7-inch touch pad and that’s it. Both phones, however, will be a perfect fit for the ardent BlackBerry lover.
So how much will an Australian have to dish out to own one of these BlackBerry toys? Well, the Torch will be free on the $49 cap for two years while the Bold will be capped at $79 for those two years. Anyone seeking to have any of these in Australia will, before mid-October, have to track one down from an Optus retail store as they have exclusive retail rights until then.
