Tips for T Mobile BlackBerry

BlackBerry phones are powerful Smartphone devices designed and developed by RIM (Research In Motion) Inc. They are widely popular, as they can be used as a task manager or personal secretary and an entertainment center - and still provide the basic functions of a cellular phone such as making and receiving calls as well as exchanging text messages. All these are provided by its menu of many applications, including fast mobile email, instant messaging through the BlackBerry Messenger, appointment settings, video recorders, task manager, 3G and 4G internet connection through various platforms and many other features.

Users of T-Mobile BlackBerry phones rarely get to use all the functions of the handset and the following tips will be very useful in helping them get the best service from their phone. BlackBerry phones can be used as modems for laptops and personal computers by a process commonly referred to as ‘tethering’. To set up your Blackberry as a modem, first plug the BlackBerry, using a USB cable, into the laptop or PC that has Blackberry Desktop Manager Software installed in it. Then launch the BlackBerry Database Manager and click on the IP Modem icon. Move on to Connection Settings and select Configure. After configuration, click the option Connect to the Internet and your BlackBerry is ready for use as a modem. Just open your favorite browser on your computer and you are instantly connected.

The camera on an AT&T BlackBerry Torch phone can be configured for use as a webcam. A webcam is simply a camera or device that streams live images to a computer. It is easy to set up and use your BlackBerry for use as a webcam. The computer must have a webcam or cellular software pre-installed before you can use the BlackBerry. Once this has been done, simply launch the webcam software on the computer and select the preferred mode of connection to the Blackberry, either through a USB cable or through a Bluetooth connection. Once the BlackBerry is connected to the computer, turn on its camera and it will begin streaming images to the computer, just like a regular Webcam.

BlackBerry phones support a lot of software. These include the Blackberry Messenger that sends and receives messages via BlackBerry PIN and is one of the fastest messengers on smart phones. Users are also able to add software using proprietary BlackBerry APIs and these can be loaded onto the phone using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager, BlackBerry Mobile Browser or BlackBerry Application World.
