The Bold 9900 and Torch 9810 Finally Out

So you have been going on and on about how you still own the oldest phone in your crew because RIM haven’t offered you anything new to go on yet. Well, now is about the time to stop whining. The BlackBerry Bold 9900 release date has been scheduled for August 10. One would, of course, love to walk out of their home and into the nearest store to pick up one of these phones, but that is not about to happen yet, unless you live next to Rogers. The Bold is not the only phone they have up for grabs, however. The BlackBerry Monaco is another toy that will be released soon, while the BlackBerry Torch 9810 is also scheduled for release on August 12.

The release of a new phone can be super exciting, but what value will it add to your life, you may wonder? First off, BlackBerry does not have a phone that is quite as eye catching as the Bold 9900. RIM made sure to drop a few jaws with the design of this model. It features a sleek black chassis that has a sort of vague glimmer in the light. A very slim design went into its creation, RIM knowing full well that a huge baggy phone is not exactly one’s idea of the perfect phone. A slim sleek shape that will easily slide into a pocket makes the Bold 9900 BlackBerry’s slimmest smart phone.

The Torch 9810 may not really be new to most BlackBerry fans. It was released in 2010 amid much pomp and pageantry, only for the phone to record disappointingly low sales. Well, the sales weren’t really low per se, but when put side by side with the sales of other popular brands, it is accurate to say that BlackBerry’s sales were not at the top of the league. This time RIM has come up with the same phone but has made several modifications to it to make it the Torch 2. Disappointingly, the phone size remains the same, a huge bulk when compared with say the Bold 9900. The weight too did not change a bit. The new Torch 9810, however, is endowed with generous processing power, doubling up against that of its predecessor. The new OS 7 on the new 9810 also gives it an advantage over the previous version.

The Tablet PC from RIM is also gaining recognition, as fans eagerly await new releases.
